Cristina Umaña is an Intellectual Property attorney based in Guatemala with over 15 years of experience advising on trademarks, industrial designs, and IP strategy. She has practiced at Umaña & Asociados since 2010, helping clients protect and commercialize intellectual assets across diverse industries. Cristina has specialized training in Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence and has taught IP law, contracts, regulation, and Internet law at Universidad Francisco Marroquín for more than a decade. She is Chair of ASIPI’s Technology and AI Committee, a member of INTA’s Non-Traditional Trademarks Committee, a former WIPO consultant, and a recognized international speaker on intellectual property and emerging technologies.
