The Atlanta-founded labor and employment law firm Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete declared on Tuesday that it added 32 cybersecurity and data privacy lawyers from Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith. Constangy’s hiring of a 44-member team includes 12 business professionals, creating a new practice group of lawyers whose primary focus remains in terms of cybersecurity and privacy. The firm will also open six new offices with a new team that will include lawyers spread across 17 cities.
Constangy has 200 lawyers compared to the Los Angeles-founded firm, Lewis Brisbois which has more than 1600 attorneys. In a way, Constangy is gaining offices in Baltimore, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Portland, Seattle, and Washington DC, along sides continuing with the hiring processes. The firm’s cyber team will be led by Sean Hoar, who was the chair of Lewis Brisbois’ cybersecurity and data privacy practice. the five former practice vice chairs, Richard Goldberg, Lindsay Nickle, Sarah Rungetta, Allen Sattler, and Alyssa Watzman will also retain those roles at the new firm.
